By accessing or using Hummus It ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Hummus It is a platform for sharing personal stories and recipes across communities. It is not a political platform, news service, or forum for debate. It exists to foster human connection.
Your submissions. When you submit stories, recipes, or reviews ("User Content"), you retain ownership of your content, but you grant Hummus It a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the Service.
Anonymity. Stories are displayed without identifying information. However, you are responsible for not including identifying details about yourself or others in your submissions.
Content standards. You agree NOT to submit content that:
Filtering and removal. We use automated filtering and reserve the right to remove any content at our sole discretion, without notice. Automated filters are imperfect; removal or non-removal of content does not constitute endorsement.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.
Donations to Hummus It are voluntary and non-refundable except as required by law. Donations are processed by third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe), subject to their terms.
Hummus It is operated by a for-profit LLC, not a charity or nonprofit. Donations are NOT tax-deductible. We pay taxes on donations received. Your donations help keep the platform running—covering servers, development, and operations.
The Service's design, code, name, and branding are owned by the operating LLC. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the Service without written permission.
We collect email addresses for story matching and notifications. We do not sell personal information.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, AUTHENTICITY, OR SAFETY OF USER CONTENT. STORIES AND RECIPES ARE USER-SUBMITTED AND UNVERIFIED.
Hummus It is not a mediation service, mental health resource, or conflict resolution organization.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HUMMUS IT AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING DAMAGES ARISING FROM USER CONTENT.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hummus It and its operators from any claims arising from your User Content or your violation of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, for any reason, without notice.
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Bergen County, New Jersey.
